NSG CVD Low-E is a highly transparent "On-line Low-E" (Low Emissivity) glass. Having a durable pyrolytic surface, this CVD Low-E glass is easily fabricated to value-added secondary glass products such as insulating glass units, tempered glass, and laminated glass.

As the CVD Low-E coating is quite durable, the glass can be stored for long periods. You can handle and cut it in the same way as with ordinary float glass.
- Since we can deliver the glass in stock sheet size, keeping it in stock enables you to reduce lead times.
- Transparency of the glass is very high among Low-E glass products. Because the percentage of visible light transmittance is considerably high, this glass can be used with the same feel as the float glass.
- Combining the glass in insulating glass units enables greater thermal insulation performance. Furthermore, edge deletion is not required, so no extra work is needed.
- As this glass is unaffected by changes in temperature, heat treatment such as bending, tempering, and laminating is possible.
NOTE:
Because NSG CVD Low-E is a low-emissivity glass, it transmits most visible and near-infrared light. It therefore makes rooms bright and is outstanding at retaining heat during the winter. In contrast, ordinary float glass transmits most of the range of solar radiation wavelengths, so it offers well-lighted rooms, but does not keep out solar heat radiation in summer or retain heat in winter.
Caution:
- Store the glass in a dry place without direct sunlight. To avoid breakage, store it vertically and use cushioning materials.
- NSG is not responsible for any glass breakage, scratches, contamination and other defects resulting from improper use or applications, misuse, rough handling or any other reason not related to defects in material or workmanship of the glass.
- Inspect the glass immediately upon receipt. Do not use it if there is any breakage or scratch on it.
On-line CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition)
Nippon Sheet Glass Co.,Ltd. utilizes the on-line CVD method to form a metal-oxide (SnO2) coating during the float glass production. Molten glass is extruded onto the flat liquid surface of molten tin in a float bath and molded horizontally. A raw material gas is introduced into the surface of the glass, which is about 650ºC, and a coating forms from the chemical reaction of the gas with the heat energy of the glass. Thus, when the glass is annealed and cut, it already has a homogeneous coating on its surface. Currently, NSG is the only company in Japan with this technology.
